A new start

   As part of starting over, I took a good look at what I have around the studio, and considered this against how many years I may have left  on this earth.  This created a new "to Do" list.  There are three projects for which I have purchased all the necessary supplies, and carefully stored those supplies away, within the studio or storeroom.  Best get busy. Last evening, while watching tv, I started a new EPP piece, using a commercial pattern, " Tula Nova" by Tula Pink.  This is fairly complicated, using several different shapes, in a circular setting, ending up about 56 inches in diameter.  OMG!  What have I got myself into?  My hope is that this will be completed while I participate in a couple of recurring social events  in which I find joy.   More of the piece can be done while watching the daily evening news. A new blog for a new stage of life

  Life can throw us curves.  My previous blog is no longer.  It was accidently closed. So I go with the flow.  I'm tired of fighting technology that I don't understand. I am an artist.  While I work mostly with fibre, I think it best to describe me as a mixed media artist, as paint, stencils, block printing, and dye can all be part of my day.  But, I started as a quilter, and while I consider quilting just another tool in the box, it's a technique that is used in most of my work. Most recently I have created two pieces designed to be kept and used by myself.  One is a commercial design, made simply for my own pleasure--Long Time Gone, by Jen Kingwell.  This was professionally quilted by Helen Mazlowski of Cedar House Quilts in Lockport Manitoba.  It is now ready for binding, and today, I found the right fabric for doing that.  It is about 67" by 69".
